Poparazzi is a photo-sharing app that encourages users to take and share photos of their friends. Unlike the social platform Instagram, it does not allow users to share selfies. Instead, you will snap photos of your friends and tag them as if you are a paparazzi. Moreover, your friends will be the ones to make your profile page.

In a way, Poparazzi is similar to Dispo. Both apps are less fine-tuning for Instagram and promote candid images. However, since it is relatively new, the community is smaller. Additionally, it is in the beta stage, so there will be some glitches.

What is Poparazzi?

Poparazzi aims to take away the pressure of being perfect on social media. Like similar apps, it has a built-in camera that allows you to snap photos and post them online quickly. However, it does not have a front-facing camera, which means you cannot snap a picture of yourself. Moreover, you cannot edit photos before posting them. Users also cannot comment, although they can react with emojis.

Furthermore, you cannot see other people's follower counts. What makes the app unique is that it does not allow users to create their own profiles. Your profile is created by photos your friends post of you. However, you can still delete images that you don't like. You can also set your profile as private and allow only a few people to share pictures of you.

Unlike other apps, such as Clubhouse and Dispo, Poparazzi is publicly available. You can sign up and create an account without waiting for a user's invite. Despite this, however, the community of users is still smaller compared to other more popular platforms. The app is also still in the beta stage, so expect a few glitches and occasional crashes. 

Social media for candid moments

Overall, Poparazzi takes photo-sharing to new heights. It breaks the tradition of sharing near-perfect pictures that popular social platforms have nowadays. Moreover, it removes some usual features, such as comments and follower counts, allowing you to focus more on snapping the candid moments of your friends. It may have a smaller community for now, but given time, it can give the forerunners a run for their money.
